weddings are all about bringing families together, but this one really warmed my heart - the bride wrote vows to the groom's son and daughter, and the wedding cake cutting doubled as the gender reveal for the new addition to their family - it's a girl!  CONGRATS!

rain. wind. more rain. that was the forecast looming all week.  we talked about a backup plan for an indoor ceremony.   but these two lovebirds were determined to have their outdoor ceremony in the charming courtyard of the inn at henderson's wharf in historic fells point, and mother nature must have a soft spot for them because the weather cleared just in time! with their children at their side, laura and joe read the vows they had written for each other. after the ceremony, i was lucky to get a few shots of them out on the pier - they couldn't wait to get inside and celebrate with their guests. wishing joe and laura all the best in this new chapter of their lives!

we went with our best friends to cut down our own christmas trees this year! it was so cold i couldn't even entice my own son to take off his coat for pictures.  next time, more layers. but it was a lot more fun than making our usual home depot run, the hot chocolate was hot, and both families ended up with trees that might've been just a tad too big.... success!

i photographed these two when they were teeny tiny. now that they are one, it takes TWO to keep up with them! mom and big sister both deserve matching capes.
