one year portraits | Baltimore family photographer | beth, jason & josh

i have a favorite library. maybe it's because i am a nerd at heart, or because my first real job when i was in high school was working at the library. i love the quiet rows of books and the promise they hold. when beth said she wanted an indoor space with natural lighting for her son's one-year portraits, i squealed with delight.  the enoch pratt central library is the most beautiful library i've ever seen and i've been DYING to take some pictures there. so we went to the children's library, which is in the basement of this huge, grand old building. two floors down, at the end of a narrow little hall, is a brightly lit children's library with a fishpond, a theater, and a garden-themed room that reveals a beautiful atrium. who says a basement can't have a skylight?  happy first birthday to josh and his parents. dream big :)

family portraits | Baltimore family photographer | shannon, alex & claire

i love doing this. i love the entire process - selecting just the right location, taking the pictures, poring over every one during the editing process, creating the perfect gallery for each family....but i have to say, the most rewarding part is a heartfelt thank you from a client. shannon's response when she saw her gallery just made my heart swell. "These are beautiful - thank you so much!!! You captured just exactly how i'll always think of claire at this age. I love the photos." mission accomplished.
